Calvary Lutheran School Track Meet Saturday, May 9, 2015 Newark Memorial High School 39375 Cedar Blvd., Newark, CA
8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Come out and cheer for our CLS students as they compete against other Lutheran school students in our annual Parent Participation is needed at this event. Please sign-up with Mr. Clemmons, Mrs. Luehrs, or the School Secretary, and you can earn PPP hours.
We need at least 15 parents to assist with ball throwing/distance competition, different races, officiating, helping with scores, help with clean up and so much more.
CLS is in charge of the Track Meet this year, so we need extra help after the meet in making sure the fields are clean and free of debris.
There is a kiosk at the entrance of the field where they will be selling hot dogs, nachos, sodas and other goodies.
Do not forget to bring your water bottles and suntan lotion.

Your PPP Hours (dollar amount) is being added to your account
If your name is still on the PPP Hours Log Sheet in the school office stating that you owe so many PPP hours, please note these hours are being added to your May 15, 2015 tuition. 1 PPP hour is equivalent to $10.00.

DELAYS ON HESPERIAN BLVD. & WEST A STREET IN HAYWARD!
PG&E will be retiring sections of our natural gas pipeline on Hesperian Blvd. and West A Street in Hayward. Work is expected to start end of April and last until the end of June.
Please plan for minor delays when driving through this area.

NEW FLOORING FOR OUR PLAYGROUND COMING THIS YEAR!
Dr. Chivalette and the CFA are in the process of looking into new flooring for the Preschool and Kindergarten playground. Yes, we are getting rid of those rubber tire pieces. If you know of anyone or a company that we should contact, please let Dr. C or the school secretary ASAP! Thank You!

Do you know a family who is interested in Calvary, please have them contact the school secretary to receive an information packet and set-up an appointment to take a tour, or they may also be able to shadow one of our students. The Cold and Flu Season are here  If you feel your child is sick or might be sick, we ask you to please keep them at home.
If your child's temperature is 99.6 degrees or higher, it is considered a low-grade temperature. Please keep your child at home as whatever your child has is now considered contagious.
A child must be fever free and not vomiting, WITHOUT any medications (Acetaminophen/ Tylenol, Ibuprofen/Motrin) in their system for at least 24 hours before they can return to school.
If your child suddenly comes down with the following symptoms: fever, headache, muscle aches, sore throat, cough, fatigue, nausea or vomiting - we encourage you to contact your local physician and discuss your child's symptoms.
Do not forget to let your school secretary know that your child will not be in school. If you would like to pick up any homework after school, please let the secretary know at that time.

Calvary Family Association (CFA) Meeting Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 6:30 p.m., in the Parish Hall
CFA Meetings are every Third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Make sure you join us this evening and "bring a friend or two."
Attend the CFA Meeting and receive a 1 hour deduction from your PPP Hours! Free dress on Friday, May 22nd for those students whose parents attend the CFA Meeting! |

 PARKING LOT SAFETY
Please do not enter into the school parking lot from V This is designated as an Exit Only! Thank You. -
Cars must enter the parking lot from Via Arriba (back side of lot), and exit the parking lot on Via Magdalena before and after school.
- When driving on the school grounds, please slow down!
- Speed limit is 5 mph.
- Please watch out for the little ones.
- Please park your car when dropping off of picking up students.
- Children must stay behind the blue line and ropes (near buildings) in the parking lot.
- Students in grades Preschool through 4th grade must be walked to class and picked up by an adult. (Please pick up your youngest child first).
- ALL GATES close at 8:40 a.m. (except for Chapel and special events). Gates will open in the afternoon at 2:50 p.m. On Half-Days (gates will open at 11:20 a.m.
***Please be sensitive to students opening the gates. Wait until the gate is open, student is out of the
way BEFORE you proceed to your destination. |

You may also bring in your USB (thumb drive) into the office and we will download it for you. We will try to return your USB to you via your child's teacher.
