February 5th is fast approaching and it is important that all current CLS families need to register their children for the 2016-17 school year by Friday in order to "lock-in" at their present tuition rate.
The current school year is going very well, and I believe that we are moving in the right direction with God's favor and blessing. The following are some important reminders of what you can anticipate for the coming 2016-17 year:
- The elementary will be comprised of K-5th grades. Grades four and five will next year,
- become self-contained with their own classroom instructor for all core subjects,
- I am presently beginning the process to find the right classroom teachers in grades 4 and 5 with the realization that the following positions have been solidified for next year:
Preschool - Mrs. Heggins
Kindergarten - Mrs. Kintner
First grade - Mrs. Smith
Second grade - Mrs. Wilson
Third grade - Miss Grace
- The middle school will be comprised of grades 6-8.
- We are currently looking for a 6th through 8th grade Math and Science teacher.
- Calvary Lutheran School will be changing its name as DBA (doing business as) Calvary Christian School. A congregation vote will be done on February 21 to affirm the new name,
- New LED lights will be placed in the new fourth, fifth, and existing middle school classrooms over the course of the summer.
- Classrooms for grades 4 and 5 have been selected which will require cleaning, renovation, and painting to make them a bright and inviting learning atmosphere.
- Development of Elementary Intramural Flag Football (Fall 2016) and Basketball League.
