Senate Bill 277 and School Immunization Law
With the passing of SB277, no new personal beliefs exemption (PBE) forms may be filed effective January 1, 2016 for students attending a public or private school in California. Personal beliefs exemptions that have already been filed for students in grades K (including transitional kindergarten) through 6th grade remain valid until the student reaches 7th grade.
Students entering Preschool and Kindergarten - ACTION NEEDED Updated Immunization and Physician's Report
Students entering Preschool and Kindergarten - Please remember to bring in your immunization documentation from your physician's office and submit it to the school secretary, as soon as possible. Please do not forget to have your doctor complete the "Physician's Report" (a physical) clearing your child to attend any school in the State of California and making sure all immunizations are up to date, per State of California and the California Department of Public Health guidelines.
Students entering the 7th Grade - ACTION NEEDED 7th Grade Requirement: Tdap and MMR
California law requires that all students entering 7th grade have completed a Tdap booster shot and two measles (or MMR) shots. In order for your child to start 7th grade, you will need to bring documentation to the school secretary no later than August 19, 2016.
NOTE: These vaccines needed for school entry. Please contact your child's doctor right away about these vaccines. Students entering school who do not meet the immunization requirements will not be able to attend school until it is complete.
