CFA is inviting all Calvary Christian School students, faculty and staff to join CFA for a day of fun in the sun to celebrate another wonderful school year at CCS.
Free lunch and admission provided for (active) CCS students and staff only.
All parents and other family members must pay $8.00 each (children under 2, free)
Note: Payment must be made in the office no later than Friday, May 19, 2017!
Lifeguards are in the swimming pool area.
*All students must be accompanied and supervised by an adult *
Note: School, School Office and Calvary Club are Closed!

LIFETOUCH SPRING PHOTOS ARE DUE IN THE OFFICE  If you do not plan to keep your Lifetouch Spring photo, please return them to the office no later than Wednesday, May 3, 2017, by 9:00 a.m. Photos not turned into the office by May 3rd will have to be mailed directly by you the parent to Lifetouch. If you have questions regarding your order, you must contact Lifetouch directly. Lifetouch contact information is in your child's photo packet. |
~ IMPORTANT NOTES & REMINDERS ~  *AFTER SCHOOL PICK-UP ~ Plan to pick up your child(ren) by 3:00 p.m. every day. Half- days are 11:30 a.m. If you are unable to pick up your child by 3:10 p.m. (or 11:40 a.m. on half-days), your child(ren) will automatically be sent to Calvary Club and you will be held responsible for any charges.  *HOT LUNCH ~ Hot Lunch is on Friday, full-days only. Hot lunch MUST be ordered no later than Tuesday, 12:00 noon, before the Friday Hot Lunch is served. If you child brings money the day of hot lunch, your child may not be guaranteed a "Friday Hot Lunch." Students who paid and signed up ahead of time will be served first. Click on the blue Hot Lunch Menu to download a menu Hot Lunch - Guidelines & Order Form (Jan. - May 2017)  *CLS IS A PEANUT/TREE NUT FREE SCHOOL CAMPUS ~ We have several students who are extremely sensitive to any and all peanut/tree nut products and this is very dangerous to their health and well-being. Some students could even have such a severe reaction to nuts that it becomes life-threatening. Please do not send your child to school with any snacks or lunches that have peanuts or are from a nut type tree.
~ VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION ~ *LOST & FOUND ~ Please check the Lost & Found bin and recover your child's clothes, or other valuables. Please note: **Clothing and other items found in the lost and found bin on Friday, June 2, 2017 - will either be tossed or donated to a local charity.

| | | | | | | | | | | "CLEAN UP AT CALVARY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL" Some of our teachers are planning on working Saturday, May 27, 2017, cleaning out their classroom.
What does this mean? Teachers need your help boxing up books, personal items, lifting boxes, cleaning, and so much needs to be done before June 1st. If you are able to help and/or you still need PPP hours, please contact the school secretary at (510) 278-2598, or speak to your student's teacher and she if they will need your help.

| "The God Who Saves" Ephesians 2:8-9 Recently I was talking with a fellow about his spiritual life. When I asked, "Are you saved?" he answered, "No, but I'm working at it." When I pressed him, he explained that he was making some changes in his life. He had given up smoking and drinking, among other things. I knew that I should help him understand a few important principles, as his only guarantee so far was better health.
What this gentleman needed to realize was that what we do or what we give up for Jesus doesn't amount to much. The Lord isn't looking for people who change a few habits by sheer force of will; He's calling people to surrender themselves to Him. The only action God expects of a "seeker" is to believe in Jesus--that He is who He says, He will do what He says, He has the authority to forgive, and He will equip His people to live a godly life. Because of those convictions, a new Christian is empowered to turn away from his old life--in other words, to repent--and begin the process of becoming "a new creation" (2 Cor. 5:17).
We don't evolve into a saved people by deleting old habits and instituting better religious ones; we are transformed by the saving power of Jesus Christ when we believe in Him.
Since salvation isn't something we earn, no one can boast before God. All of our moral living, good deeds, and strenuous efforts to change bad habits amount to a pile of trash compared to the holiness of Jesus Christ (Isa. 64:6). Only His righteousness can cover our sins and make us right before the Father.
