Calvary & Dr. Chivalette Work days - PPP Hours

Dr. C's Construction Paint and Repair Work Days at Calvary Lutheran   AUGUST 1 and 8, 2015 Dr. C's Construction & Paint Work Days  It is a new school year and a great way to start deducting those PPP (Parent Participation Program) Hours off your list. Do you have experience with Construction, Painting, Plumbing, Electrical, Cleaning?  If you do or don't, we can use your help.    Painting Secretaries Office (school and church office) Office hallways Rooms 1, 2, 3, 7 & 9 (coordinate with teachers) Pre-school (this is a big job need a lot of help) Bathrooms all 4 Paint outside of rooms 3 & 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9. Paint hop-scotch 4-square and  other games on black top Principal's Office   General Jobs Earthquake Secure new lockers to wall Remove old TV's Rooms 3, 4, &7 Install new TV's s as they become available Patch Old screw holes in bathrooms Replace burnt out lights all class rooms Replace non-functioning ceiling light fixtures 10 ea. Power wash student picnic area Remove old rubber from play area (there has been an interest in individuals getting this material for Home landscaping) Replace broken blinds Preschool   Plumbing Check and repair leaking/ nonworking water faucets and drinking fountains. Repair faucet in church/school office hallway. Check for leaks under sinks all rooms repair if needed. Repair toilet flushing valves working and shutting off. Replace leaking plug in water heater, Preschool sink    This year we are having two Dr. C's Construction and Paint Work Days. This major event will be held Saturday, August 1st and 8th, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.  School Beautification Day is Saturday, August 15th at 9:00 a.m. Please contact the church or school office & sign-up for this special event at (510) 278-2598. Calvary Lutheran Church and School Important Message from  Superintendent Dr. Michael Chivalette Monday, July 20, 2015    Dear Calvary Lutheran Families and Friends,   I trust that you are enjoying your summer months.  We are very busy at the school preparing for the new school year to begin on August 26th.  Our primary goal in conjunction with the Calvary Family Association is to work on the playground by removing the rubber flooring with a splinter free mulch product.  This provides cleaner and safer flooring for our children.  Some of the other summer projects include:   Providing our elementary and middle school students with a structured basketball camp Changing signage on all offices and classrooms thereby providing a more professional look   Repainting all classrooms with a variety of colors giving each classroom a distinctive and creative look Providing vertical lockers for all middle school students Purchasing a new website template which will provide a more user friendly approach Purchasing new playground equipment for our elementary and middle school students Our faculty and staff are working diligently to prepare each classroom so that each child will be provided with an incredible learning atmosphere.  We also have a wonderful and professional group of teachers who will provide both a loving and learning environment for all of their students.  The following is our 2015-2016 faculty and staff list:   Superintendent:  Dr. Michael Hemme Chivalette Administrative Assistant:  Nancy Schibler Principal:  Margie Luehrs Preschool:  Director: Kim Heggins                    Teacher: Tori Anklam Kindergarten:  Jeanne Kintner First Grade:  Pamela Smith Second Grade:  Anne Carbonaro Wilson Third/Fourth Grade:  Christina Grace MS Math & Science:  Sabina James MS Language Arts:  Carol Chivalette MS Social Studies:  Dr. Chivalette K-8 Spanish:  America Salazar K-8 Physical Education:  Josh Clemmons K-8 Music:  Still seeking person to fill position Technology:  Doug Henry   Please set aside two important Saturdays, August 1 and August 8, to provide much needed help painting, putting up two flat screen televisions in rooms 4 and 6, as well as completing the playground project.  Please show your support for CLS by helping out on either or both days.  All participants will receive PPP hours for their service.  As well, we will be cleaning the interior of all classrooms and the surrounding campus on Saturday, August 15.  Continental Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all who participate.   Sincerely, Dr. Michael H. Helpers needed to move Miss G...

Miss Grace is back in town!!! Miss Grace will be moving into her apartment tomorrow and we are in need of a few helpers to pack up her stuff from the storage unit and unpack the truck at her apartment. We are renting a truck so we only have to make one trip.
