A Secret Sister Brunch - Sunday, Oct. 13th @ 11am

Secret Sister Fall
All women are invited to join us for a brunch of a very special kind.

A couple of times a year, we gather for a festive meal, and we draw the name of a fellow "sister." During the months that follow, we pray for our sister, buy her small tokens of friendship and send her cards.

At the next Secret Sister Brunch, we reveal to each other who we had as our "secret sister," and then we start over again.  As we continue this cycle, we each are blessed with more and more sisters.

Parent Teacher Conf
IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN...

This year, the first quarter Parent - Teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, October 24th and on Friday, October 25th.

Teachers are scheduling some of the conferences after school on Thursday, October 24th.  Friday, October 25th there is no school so the teachers can hold conferences in the morning.  Teachers will send home a form requesting your 1st, 2nd & 3rd choice for meeting dates/times.  Please return it by 10/15. For your convenience, we will schedule sibling conferences close together.

In an effort to assist parents with childcare, we will offer Calvary Club for the duration of your appointment time only.  No children or babies under 5, no non-students, and the maximum time a child may stay in Calvary Club is 20 min.  (For siblings, the time limit is 20 min. per child.)

Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 is the national Make a Difference Day.   A day devoted to helping others by doing volunteer work.

Calvary Lutheran School will be participating in its own Make a Difference Day on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013.

Calvary Lutheran School students will be walking for food donations to be made to a local food pantry.  Each class will be walking or running for a thirty minute period around a 1/5 mile course set up on the school grounds.  It takes an adult about three minutes to walk the course.  Each child is to get sponsors who will donate non- perishable food items or money they have pledged per lap.

Between now and October 31st please help your child get sponsors.  Then November 1st - 15th bring your collected donations to your child's classroom.

Although Pre-School is not walking, they will be collecting donations in their classroom.

The class with the most donations will receive FREE DRESS.

Several parents will be needed to help with the walk, earn PPP hours.  If you can help, please call 278-2598 ext. 26 or email:   mluehrs@calvaryslz.org.
