RE:  Calvary Lutheran School changes in Registration Time and Tuition

Dear School Families,

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

The members of Calvary Lutheran Church and I want to thank you for entrusting us with your most precious resource. It is an honor we take seriously as we seek to provide excellence in education and character development.

The past few years at Calvary have been ones of change and transition in staffing and classes.  We appreciate your patience as we seek the best path for your children and the future of Calvary Lutheran School.  This year enrollment increased by almost 25%!  This is a testament to your trust in us.  Staffing changes to accommodate this increase have been made and we look forward to even greater enrollment in the future.  Dr. Chivalette and I are in the process of developing 1, 3 and 5 year plans for Calvary Lutheran School.  I can share with you that two of our current goals are an increase in enrollment with a return to single grade classrooms as soon as it is economically feasible.

We are making the following changes in order to better plan for our next school year.  As you may recognize, nothing seems to go down in price.  This includes everything from paper and pencils to healthcare costs.  After careful consideration, we are going to increase the tuition for the 2015-16 School year from $6,500 to $7,250.  However, if you register and pay the $250 registration fee by January 30, 2015, your tuition will remain at the current rate of $6,500.

The current discounts for multiple children and children of clergy will still continue.  Scholarships and other programs are still available as well.

We are also bringing back the "refer a friend" discount of $500 for every child that you refer who enrolls for the school year.  This is a discount for EVERY child you refer.  So if you can find 13 children who enroll, your child will be tuition free!  Discounts are taken off of tuition and are not payable in cash.  The maximum amount rewarded will be the total of all tuition for your family.

Having your registration completed before January 30th will save you money and help us to better plan and staff for the 2015-16 year.  If this change in timing represents a hardship, perhaps a gift for the holiday is for education.  Many grandparents, aunts and uncles wonder what to get for your child.  What greater gift could they give than an education?

Yours Sincerely,

Rev. Kelly Smith Sr.                                                    Dr. Michael Chivalette
