Punctual-3 *BE ON TIME/PUNCTUALITY ~ It is important for all of our children to learn that getting to school on time, turning in assignments thoroughly completed and within the allotted days, and always being prepared are not only vital for school but important elements of success as an adult.

Sleep

Message from
the California Department of Public Health  bronze-medicine-symbol.jpg
and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

To keep your school as healthy as possible this year, please promote flu vaccine among your students and staff.  The California Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention strongly recommend flu vaccine each fall for everyone 6 months of age and older.

Getting vaccinated is easy:
  • Contact your doctor, nurse, clinic, or pharmacy, and ask if they stock flu vaccine
  • Many local health departments offer low or no cost flu immunizations
  • To find other locations near you, visit http://flushot.healthmap.org

Take other important steps to help stop the spread of germs:
  • Stay home while sick and limit contact with others
  • Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing with your sleeve or disposable tissue
  • Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water, or use an alcohol-based sanitizer
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
To learn more about flu, visit www.flu.gov.

CLS - HEALTH & MEDICAL INFORMATION

*COLD AND FLU SEASON ARE HERE
~ If you feel your child is sick or might be sick, we ask you to please keep them at home.  If your child's temperature is 99.8 or higher, it is considered a low-grade temperature.  Please keep your child at home as whatever your child has is now considered contagious.

A child must be FEVER FREE (NO fever), no diarrhea, and no vomiting, WITHOUT any medication (i.e. Acetaminophen/Tylenol, Ibuprofen/Motrin) in their system for at least 24 hours before they can return to school.

Washing Hands *MAKE HAND-WASHING A HABIT ~ Kids who wash their hands at least four times a day have a 24 percent fewer sick days from colds and flue, and 51 percent fewer sick days due to stomach illnesses (Amer Public Hlth Assoc).

Teach kids to scrub their whole hands - up to the wrists and under the fingernails - and to do it long enough to sing the ABCs or "Happy Birthday" all the way through.  A timer works well, too.

"Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight  in the Lordand he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lordtrust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret -it leads only to evil.
For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.
A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.
But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity."
(Psalms 37:3-11, NIV)
