Calvary Lutheran School - Professional Development (Title 2)

Calvary Lutheran School

September 4, 2015

Dear Calvary Lutheran School Parents and Guardians,

Funding to provide Professional Development for our teachers and administrators here at Calvary comes from multiple sources, one of them is a federal program.  One of the requirements for our teachers and administrators to receive this funding is to provide our constituency with the following information.  If you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact Principal Marjorie Luehrs (MLuehrs@calvaryslz.org) or me (DrC@calvaryslz.org).

In order to provide our faculty and administrators additional professional development, Calvary participates in the federal program Title 2, which provides federal funding for Title 2: Professional Development to help ensure we maintain a highly qualified staff and administrative team. This funding provides the finances for teachers to receive professional development, such as our one day Spring in-service.

As our school is located in the San Lorenzo Unified School District, they are charged annually with the responsibility to administrate these funds to our school.  One of the other requirements is providing a way for individuals to register a Uniform Complaint.  This can be done by clicking on the link for the policy and forms provided by the San Lorenzo Unified School District http://www.slzusd.k12.ca.us/ cms/page_view?d=x&piid=&vpid= 1244185493153 .

These funds are not for the operation of Calvary Lutheran School, but for the individual professional development of our teachers and administrators, which does not violate our commitment to not receive federal funding for the operation of Calvary Lutheran School.

In His Service,
Dr. Michael Hemme Chivalette
Superintedent
