Important Message from Dr. Chivalette

Thursday, September 4, 2015

Dear Calvary Lutheran School Parents and Families,

On Wednesday, September 2, 2015, we completed our first week of school.  The classrooms, playground areas, and overall atmosphere have been electric with the excitement of our students and staff.  Everyone is thoroughly enjoying the spirit with which we have kicked off our current school year.

On Wednesday, after a long search, we are now able to officially announce the hiring of our new music teacher.  Mr. Omar Nieto comes with years of experience both in choral training as well as instrumental (guitar and piano).  He will begin his formal classroom instruction with students in grades Kindergarten through 8th on Friday, September 4th.  Also, Mr. Nieto will be providing two early morning classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 8:10 for choral and group instruction for those interested.  As well, he can be hired to teach any Calvary student on Wednesdays after school.  Join us in welcoming him as part of our Calvary family.  Please contact Mrs. Schibler for more information regarding private instruction for your child.

I am including the Calvary School Handbook and the Middle School Student Handbook for your review.  Please click on the blue titled items to view each handbook.

I wanted to update each family regarding important dates:

September 7 - No school - Labor Day
September 8 - Calvary Family Association (CFA) Meeting @ 6:30 p.m., in the Parish Hall
September 15 - Back-to-School Night, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.  (look for additional information)
September 18 - Teacher's In-Service - Half-Day, Students dismissed @ 11:30 a.m.
September 25 - School Pictures

As most are aware, much was done over the course of the summer months.  God has been very good to our school, and I wanted to say thank you to everyone who took time from their busy schedules to help clean, paint, and prepare our campus for the start of this our 65th school year.

In addition, I am including the CLS School/Student Handbook as well as the Middle School (MS) Handbook for your review.  Please click on each (blue) handbook title below to retrieve the information and take a few minutes to review its information.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, Mrs. Luehrs, or Mrs. Schibler.
